Candida Maurer, PhD, LMT, CHTP
Candida Maurer, Ph.D., LMT, CHTP, is an artist, psychologist, and alternative medicine specialist. Her interest in creating spiritually-based art began after recovering from a life-threatening illness in which energy medicine played a crucial role. Already a Jungian psychotherapist, Reiki Master, and Certified Healing Touch Practitioner, she began having visions of the underlying realities of the energetic and archetypal worlds as they work through the healing process. Her art is a continuously developing result of meditation, energy medicine practice, and creative inspiration.
Candida is the co-founder of Eastwind Healing Center along with her husband, Dr. Michael Santangelo. She is a licensed psychologist, licensed massage therapist, Certified Healing Touch Practitioner, and Reiki Master in two lineages (Usui Shiki Ryoho and Reiki Jin Kei Do). She is also a hypnotherapist, advanced Light Language practitioner, medical intuitive, Quantum Healing practitioner, and Chi Nei Tsang therapist.
Dr. Maurer has integrated psychotherapy and energy work into a powerful combination that has proven to be the healing key for many people. A gifted instructor, she directed and taught at a spiritually-based massage school for ten years. She is currently an adjunct faculty member at The University of Iowa, and has published in the area of hypnosis and pain management.
